About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Experts create realistic examples, evaluate model outputs, and develop clear criteria that help AI systems make better decisions. This work gives experienced professionals a direct role in shaping cutting-edge technology, often through flexible remote engagements.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Film and Television Production Evaluator to support AI evaluation work grounded in real production-management expertise. You will design realistic evaluation tasks, create and curate authentic production artifacts, define defensible decisions, and develop detailed rubrics that assess nuanced judgment across budgets, schedules, contracts, delivery plans, and crew assignments.

Prior AI experience is not required. This is a remote, part-time contractor engagement requiring 20 or more hours per week. Work is conducted in English, and applicants may be located worldwide.

  • Contractor and part-time engagement
  • 20+ hours per week
  • Worldwide opportunity
  • English-language work
  • Compensation listed at $45–$85 USD per hour

What You'll Do

You will translate practical production-management judgment into realistic AI evaluation content. Your work should reflect current industry practices and the kinds of tradeoffs that arise when production teams manage competing time, cost, contractual, and resource constraints.

  • Design tasks involving budget reconciliation and production scheduling adjustments
  • Create scenarios involving vendor or crew coordination and other production constraints
  • Source or construct authentic production materials and documentation
  • Define correct decisions and write detailed, multi-criteria evaluation rubrics
  • Document production workflows in precise written English
  • Collaborate on task refinement and quality improvements
  • Ensure evaluation content reflects realistic production challenges and current industry practices

Requirements

You should bring substantial hands-on experience in film, television, digital, or live event production. The role requires practical responsibility for core production materials and decisions, as well as the ability to explain and evaluate complex workflows.

  • Five or more years of credited production experience
  • Direct responsibility for production budgets, call sheets, or contracts
  • Hands-on management and reconciliation of production budgets, call sheets, and contracts
  • Strong vendor and crew coordination skills
  • Ability to balance time, cost, and resource constraints
  • Precise written and verbal communication
  • Analytical judgment grounded in real-world production workflows
  • Ability to create authentic production documentation and technical materials
  • Ability to construct multi-criteria evaluation rubrics and define defensible decisions
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous engagement

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is suited to production professionals who can turn real-world experience into structured evaluation tasks. It may be especially relevant to people who have managed budgets, schedules, contracts, crews, vendors, or delivery requirements and can clearly articulate why one production decision is stronger than another.

Experience authoring or evaluating multi-criteria rubrics or technical assessment tools is valuable, but prior AI experience is not required.

  • Film and television production professionals
  • Digital or live event production professionals
  • Production managers and coordinators with budget or contract responsibility
  • Experts comfortable creating realistic documents and evaluating nuanced decisions

Schedule and Compensation

Compensation is output-based, with payment tied to tasks that meet project specifications. Minimum task-submission requirements apply, and the time required may vary based on experience and workflow. The role does not specify a fixed per-task amount.

The listed compensation range is $45–$85 USD per hour, with the structured posting indicating a $85 USD hourly rate.

  • 20+ hours per week
  • Output-based payment tied to approved task submissions
  • $45–$85 USD per hour listed compensation range
