The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Engineering and Manufacturing AI Work Evaluator to assess AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks. You will use expertise in engineering, manufacturing, or technical operations to judge accuracy, rigor, presentation quality, and relevance to the technical context.

This is a remote, hourly contractor engagement focused on expert evaluation and clear written feedback. The project is listed as entry level, but it requires at least five years of relevant professional experience and strong subject-matter expertise.

What You’ll Do

You will evaluate professional artifacts against domain-specific quality rubrics and explain the reasoning behind each assessment. Your reviews should consistently reflect practical judgment across different document formats and technical contexts.

  • Review AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks
  • Assess factual accuracy, technical rigor, and domain relevance
  • Evaluate clarity, aesthetics, formatting, and overall presentation quality
  • Identify factual, aesthetic, formatting, and presentation errors
  • Provide clear, structured written feedback for each evaluation
  • Apply quality standards consistently across different artifacts

Required Qualifications

This role is intended for an experienced practitioner who can combine technical knowledge with careful quality judgment. You must be able to evaluate professional work products for both substantive accuracy and overall communication quality.

  • At least five years of professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical operations
  • Strong subject-matter expertise in a relevant technical field
  • Professional or native fluency in English
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Practical experience using Google Slides or PowerPoint
  • Ability to evaluate technical content for accuracy, rigor, presentation quality, and domain relevance
  • Ability to provide clear and structured written feedback

Preferred Background

An advanced degree, such as a master’s degree or higher, from a reputable institution is preferred.
