About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Expert contributors review AI-generated content, evaluate recommendations, and provide structured feedback that helps models become more accurate, useful, and reliable.

This role applies that process to digital manufacturing, where practical knowledge of manufacturing workflows is essential for judging whether AI-generated guidance is accurate and efficient.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Manufacturing Process AI Evaluation Specialist to support AI training focused on digital manufacturing workflow evaluation. You will use your knowledge of CAM, CNC machining, Autodesk Fusion 360, and related manufacturing software to assess AI-generated processes and recommendations.

Prior AI training experience is not required. Strong real-world expertise in manufacturing and digital fabrication is the most important qualification.

  • Work remotely as an independent contractor
  • Part-time engagement of 20+ hours per week
  • Worldwide opportunity
  • English-language work
  • Pay range: $50–$100 USD per hour

What You'll Do

You will provide expert feedback on manufacturing processes and techniques, with particular emphasis on CAM, CNC machining, and Autodesk Fusion 360 applications. Your reviews will help assess whether AI-generated workflows are technically sound and practically useful.

You will also explain technical judgments clearly, apply evaluation standards consistently, and contribute to the development of reliable process-review methods.

  • Review and assess AI-generated manufacturing workflows
  • Evaluate AI-generated manufacturing recommendations for practical accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide expert feedback on CAM, CNC machining, and digital fabrication processes
  • Refine manufacturing-related AI content and recommendations
  • Develop and validate detailed process-evaluation rubrics
  • Apply project standards consistently across review tasks
  • Explain technical manufacturing judgments in clear written and verbal feedback

Requirements

Applicants should bring proven expertise in CAM, CNC machining, and digital manufacturing workflows, along with advanced proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 or related manufacturing software. You should be able to judge technical processes for practical accuracy and efficiency and communicate your reasoning clearly.

Experience developing or applying process-evaluation rubrics is highly valued. You must also be comfortable following detailed project guidelines and working independently in a remote contractor setting.

  • Expertise in CAM, CNC machining, and digital manufacturing
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 or related manufacturing software
  • Ability to evaluate manufacturing workflows for practical accuracy and efficiency
  • Experience developing or applying process-evaluation rubrics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Ability to explain technical manufacturing judgments clearly
  • Ability to follow detailed project guidelines independently

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is suited to manufacturing professionals, digital fabrication specialists, and experienced CNC or CAM practitioners who want to help shape how AI understands real-world production workflows.

The role is listed as entry level within AI training, so previous work training AI models is not necessary. Your manufacturing knowledge, software proficiency, and ability to make consistent technical evaluations are what matter most.

  • Manufacturing and digital fabrication specialists
  • CAM and CNC machining professionals
  • Advanced Autodesk Fusion 360 users
  • Technical experts who enjoy reviewing and explaining processes
  • Professionals seeking flexible, remote AI training work
