The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an expert Contract Attorney to support legal LLM analysis and contract-drafting work. You will use your experience with technology agreements to train and evaluate advanced AI models through text-based labeling and evaluation workflows.

This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity expected to run for 3 to 6 months. The expected weekly commitment is less than 20 hours.

What You'll Do

You will evaluate legal AI performance and translate complex legal analysis into clear, structured feedback. Your work will help improve model accuracy, contract understanding, and legally informed decision-making.

  • Perform simulated contract negotiations and detailed redlining exercises.
  • Review AI-generated responses to complex contract scenarios.
  • Identify legal risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve AI reasoning.
  • Provide structured expert feedback to improve model accuracy and legal judgment.
  • Develop objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for contract-review tasks.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and redline technology agreements.
  • Collaborate with product and research teams to refine legal datasets, guidelines, and evaluation standards.
  • Complete text labeling workflows related to legal LLM analysis and contract drafting.

Required Qualifications

This role is designed for an experienced attorney with strong technology-contract expertise and the ability to assess legal reasoning precisely. You should be comfortable working independently on detailed written tasks and explaining your conclusions clearly.

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active U.S. bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.
  • At least 3 years of experience focused on technology contracts.
  • Strong experience negotiating and reviewing MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, and similar commercial agreements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical judgment.
  • Ability to translate complex legal reasoning into clear, actionable feedback.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Fluent English proficiency.
  • Genuine interest in the intersection of law, technology, and AI.
