You will design challenging tasks that test whether AI agents can complete authentic, multi-step scientific work. Each task should require agents to use scientific data, run code, troubleshoot results, and produce scientifically valid outputs.
You will turn real research workflows into bounded tasks with clear instructions and objective grading. Your work will help distinguish scientific reasoning and execution from simple memorization.
- Design computational workflows across the life sciences.
- Create realistic input files, datasets, instructions, constraints, and expected deliverables.
- Develop reproducible expert solutions and verifiable ground truths.
- Build automated or semi-automated grading criteria.
- Check scientific assumptions, calculations, code, intermediate results, and final answers.
- Refine tasks in response to reviewer feedback.
What it pays and takes
This is a remote contractor assignment lasting five weeks. The role requires strong computational research ability and the judgment to validate both scientific reasoning and technical results.
- Pay: $280 per approved task.
- Schedule: At least 40 hours per week, with four hours of overlap with Pacific Time.
- Listing commitment: 20 or more hours per week.
- Location: Open worldwide; remote work is required.
- Language: English fluency is required.
- Education: A Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, or equivalent research experience in the life sciences.
- Programming: Strong scientific programming experience, especially in Python.
- Experience: Multi-step computational scientific analysis and independent validation of computational outputs.
- Useful background: Bioinformatics, computational genomics, systems biology, computational neuroscience, biostatistics, computational drug discovery, computational biochemistry, structural biology, protein engineering, or computational microbiology.
- Valued skills: Scientific libraries, command-line tools, reproducible research pipelines, and translating research workflows into objectively gradable tasks.
