About AI Training Work

The Role

As a Competitive Coder, you will build reinforcement learning environments for evaluating AI performance. You will create original competitive programming problems that are not available on online judges, develop reference solutions, and produce robust test suites.

The role also includes implementing C++ checkers for problems with multiple valid outputs and complex edge cases. You will review participant and model submissions against detailed problem statements, including problems sourced from platforms such as Codeforces.

• Compensation: $45 to $65 per hour, output-based and paid per approved task meeting specifications
• Role type: Contractor and part-time
• Expected availability: 15 or more hours per week, with an expected commitment under 20 hours per week

What You'll Do

You will combine algorithmic problem-solving, C++ development, testing, and technical communication to create reliable AI evaluation environments. Careful review is essential because the quality of each problem, checker, and test case affects the usefulness of the resulting training data.

• Design unique competitive programming problems and write reference solutions
• Create comprehensive test suites covering constraints and edge cases
• Implement robust C++ checkers for tasks with multiple valid outputs
• Evaluate participant and model submissions against complex problem statements
• Review problems sourced from platforms such as Codeforces
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and clarify edge cases
• Document checker logic, solution requirements, and technical decisions
• Provide feedback on test cases and maintain high standards for code quality and documentation

Requirements and Qualifications

This role is designed for an intermediate-level contributor with advanced C++ ability and deep expertise in competitive programming. Previous AI experience is not required, but you should be comfortable analyzing difficult algorithmic tasks, validating code, and explaining technical logic clearly in English.

Preferred Experience

Experience creating or reviewing competitive programming content is valued, particularly when it includes problem setting, testing, or checker development. Familiarity with major programming platforms can help you evaluate complex submissions and anticipate implementation errors.

• Previous experience as a problem setter, tester, or checker
