The role

You will act as a Civil Engineering AI Evaluation Expert: reviewing AI-generated responses and written technical content for accuracy, clarity, and usefulness in civil engineering contexts.

Work is contract, fully remote, and part-time. The listing describes approximately 10 hours per week in the role description but also includes a structured time requirement of 20+ hours/week — please confirm your availability when you apply.

• Provide expert review and professional feedback on model outputs and technical text
• Identify authoritative references and practical resources for civil engineering topics
• Share realistic descriptions of tools, workflows, and industry standards

What you'll do

Daily tasks combine careful reading, technical judgment, and clear written feedback. You will help train AI to reason like a practicing civil engineer.

• Evaluate AI-generated answers and written content for technical accuracy and code compliance
• Answer domain-specific questions with well-reasoned explanations and corrective guidance
• Recommend relevant standards, codes, and references (e.g., ASCE, IBC, AASHTO) and point to useful source material
• Document common mistakes, ambiguous phrasing, and real-world constraints that affect engineering decisions
• Collaborate with a small group of subject-matter experts across fields to harmonize feedback and guidelines

Requirements

You must meet the core professional and technical requirements below. We preserve all substantive criteria from the role description.

• Degree-qualified civil engineer
• US Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• At least 2 years of professional civil engineering experience
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as ASCE, IBC, and AASHTO
• Experience with common civil engineering tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD, or Revit
• Professional working English and comfort evaluating written technical content
• Experience writing technical specifications, design reports, or training material is a plus

Compensation, logistics, and who should apply

This is a contract, part-time role open to candidates based in the United States. Work is fully remote and flexible.

Pay range: $65–$90 per hour (hourly rate depends on experience and final scope). Employment type: contractor, part-time. Languages: English required.
