The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Chinese Mandarin AI Evaluation and Localization Expert to assess AI-generated responses and provide detailed feedback. You will evaluate reasoning quality, accuracy, clarity, logical consistency, and adherence to prompts.
The role combines Mandarin localization judgment with AI response evaluation. You will also create language content, fact-check localized information, compare model outputs, and write explanations or model solutions that demonstrate correct methods.

What You’ll Do
You will make careful, evidence-based quality decisions across Mandarin-language AI content. Strong performance requires close attention to both linguistic detail and the underlying reasoning of each response.
Review AI-generated responses for accuracy, clarity, and reasoning quality
Assess whether responses follow the prompt and identify methodological or conceptual errors
Fact-check claims and references in localized content
Write high-quality explanations and model solutions when needed
Compare multiple AI responses and determine which is strongest
Apply Mandarin localization judgment to terminology, tone, and cultural nuance
Identify subtle meaning shifts and document quality decisions clearly
Required Qualifications
This role requires native or near-native Mandarin proficiency and at least C1 English reading and writing ability. You should be comfortable evaluating nuanced language, explaining quality decisions, and working carefully with written content.
Professional experience in translation, localization, or linguistic quality assurance is important. Familiarity with established quality frameworks and localization technology will help you make consistent, well-supported judgments.
Native or near-native Chinese Mandarin proficiency
Minimum C1 English reading and writing ability
Strong background in translation, localization, or linguistic QA
Experience applying MQM or LQA quality criteria
Ability to fact-check localized content and spot subtle meaning shifts
Familiarity with CAT tools, translation memory, termbases, terminology management, and automated QA workflows
Excellent editorial judgment and careful fact-checking habits
Prior AI data training, annotation, or evaluation experience is preferred
Helpful Background

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or a related field
Five or more years of professional localization or translation experience
Experience with multilingual localization, style guides, and terminology management
