The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting an expert Chemistry AI Training Reviewer to evaluate AI-generated chemistry responses. You will assess reasoning quality and step-by-step problem solving, identify errors, fact-check chemical information, write accurate explanations, and compare responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

What You'll Do

You will review chemistry answers and provide detailed judgments that help improve model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance. Your work will involve both evaluating existing responses and creating strong chemical explanations or model solutions.

  • Review chemistry answers for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt
  • Evaluate step-by-step chemistry reasoning and problem-solving quality
  • Identify calculation, methodology, and conceptual errors
  • Fact-check chemical information and assess scientific correctness
  • Write clear chemical explanations and accurate model solutions
  • Rate and compare multiple AI responses
  • Help improve model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance

Requirements

This is an expert-level chemistry evaluation role requiring advanced subject knowledge and strong written English. You should be comfortable analyzing technical answers, checking calculations and methods, and explaining corrections clearly.

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry or a related field
  • Deep knowledge of chemistry reasoning, including stoichiometry and equilibrium
  • Strong command of chemical reactions and organic mechanisms
  • Knowledge of analytical methods and physical or quantum chemistry
  • Ability to spot calculation, methodology, and conceptual errors
  • Excellent English writing skills for explaining corrections clearly
  • Experience evaluating AI-generated scientific or technical answers
  • Research, analytical writing, debate, programming, chemistry, RLHF, or model evaluation experience is preferred or beneficial
