CFD Engineer AI Task Designer

The work

You will create engineering challenges that help train and evaluate AI models on computational fluid dynamics and aerodynamics. The work combines technical problem design, objective answer checking, and verified reference solutions.

You will use your engineering judgment to make each task physically accurate, clear, self-contained, and suitable for objective scoring. Machine learning research experience is not required.

• Design CFD and aerodynamics tasks based on real engineering situations.
• Write precise problems covering boundary conditions, mesh quality, flow regimes, and simulation setup.
• Create deterministic checkers that objectively evaluate final model answers.
• Produce reference solutions showing that each task is solvable and scored correctly.
• Review and refine tasks for physical accuracy, clarity, and appropriate difficulty.
• Use OpenFOAM experience to ground challenges in practical simulation workflows.

What it pays and takes

This is a remote, part-time hourly contract with flexible, asynchronous scheduling. The role is designed for someone who can work independently and explain complex physics in concise, practical terms.

• Pay: $80 to $110 per hour.
• Schedule: Expected commitment of 10 to 40 hours per week; the listing also specifies 20 or more hours per week.
• Location: Applicants must be based in India.
• Language: English.
• Required: Hands-on experience with OpenFOAM.
• Required: Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer fundamentals.
• Required: Practical knowledge of mesh generation, turbulence modeling, boundary conditions, and post-processing.
• Required: Ability to create self-contained, objectively verifiable engineering problems.
• Preferred: A degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Helpful: Experience with other CFD solvers or multiphysics platforms, Python, Bash, MATLAB, design optimization, flow-control strategies, adjoint methods, technical assessments, or engineering problem development.
• Helpful: Graduate study or research in aerodynamics, propulsion, or computational methods.
