The Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Castilian Spanish Audio Transcript Editor to improve speech data used to train AI systems. You will listen to Spanish recordings, compare them with existing transcripts, correct word-level errors, and verify that timestamps match the spoken content.

This is a fully remote contract role for people based in Spain. The work is flexible and asynchronous, with a stated availability range of 10 to 40 hours per week and a commitment of 20 or more hours weekly. Pay is $15-$35 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will review recorded speech carefully and make precise edits according to detailed editorial and formatting guidelines. Consistency and sound judgment are essential when handling unclear recordings or speech that overlaps.

• Compare Spanish audio recordings with existing transcripts
• Correct misheard words, misspellings, accents, punctuation, and formatting
• Check and adjust word-level timestamps to match the audio
• Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently
• Flag unclear audio, overlapping speech, and segments needing additional review
• Maintain high accuracy and quality across transcript data
• Work independently and asynchronously

Requirements

You do not need prior AI or technology experience. The most important qualifications are native-level Castilian Spanish ability, excellent listening skills, careful written Spanish, and the ability to follow detailed instructions consistently.

• Native-level Spanish from Spain, including Castilian pronunciation, vocabulary, and regional usage
• Ability to distinguish spoken words accurately in varied audio conditions
• Strong written Spanish and careful attention to spelling, accents, punctuation, and formatting

Helpful Background

Previous experience is helpful but not required. Backgrounds in transcription, subtitling, closed captioning, linguistics, phonetics, speech processing, transcript editing, annotation, or data labeling may help you get started quickly.
