About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Experts review, rate, refine, and explain examples so AI models can produce more accurate and useful results.

In this project, your manufacturing knowledge will help models reason about CAD, CAM, CNC, and digital manufacturing workflows. No previous AI experience is required.

The CAD Expert Role

As a CAD Expert, you will provide subject-matter feedback on manufacturing processes and evaluate AI-generated content and recommendations. Your work will help improve model accuracy, efficiency, and practical usefulness.

This is a remote contractor position open worldwide. The expected commitment is fewer than 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and an expected project duration of under one month.

  • Role type: Contractor and part time
  • Location: Remote, worldwide
  • Schedule: Flexible, fewer than 20 hours per week
  • Project duration: Expected to be under one month
  • Language: Fluent English required
  • Compensation: Output-based, with listed compensation of $50 to $100 USD per hour

What You’ll Do

You will evaluate manufacturing-related AI outputs and help establish consistent standards for judging the quality of model responses. Tasks may vary based on project needs, experience, and submission requirements.

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and techniques using hands-on CAD experience.
  • Assess AI-generated content and recommendations for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review and refine content related to manufacturing workflows.
  • Develop and validate detailed rubrics for manufacturing process performance.
  • Create standards for evaluating AI model output quality.
  • Complete evaluation rating tasks and meet minimum weekly submission requirements.

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

This role is listed at the entry level for AI training, but it requires practical subject-matter expertise in CAD, CAM, CNC, or digital manufacturing. Strong communication and careful attention to technical detail are essential.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major CAD platform.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, Inventor, CATIA, or Creo.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Clear, technically accurate, and detail-oriented work.
  • Experience with CAM, CNC machining, or digital manufacturing workflows is preferred.
  • Experience with Autodesk tools, especially Fusion 360 or AutoCAD, is preferred.
  • Python proficiency is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, generative design, or AI-assisted workflows is preferred.
  • Experience developing or applying process evaluation rubrics is preferred.
  • Comfort evaluating AI-generated content and recommendations.

Who Should Apply

Apply if you can use your CAD and manufacturing experience to explain what makes a process, recommendation, or technical answer accurate and effective. This opportunity may suit professionals familiar with design, CAM, CNC machining, or digital manufacturing who want flexible remote work in the growing AI industry.

You do not need prior experience working in AI. Your ability to assess technical content, communicate clearly, and apply sound manufacturing judgment is the foundation for this role.

Compensation and Onboarding

Compensation is output-based: experts are paid per task that meets project specifications. The time required per task can vary with experience, and minimum submission requirements apply each week. The listed compensation range is $50 to $100 USD per hour.

Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Selected candidates are expected to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.

Hiring Process

The application process is designed to assess your technical expertise and readiness for evaluation work.

  • Apply to the role and complete the screening questions.
  • Complete an automated AI interview lasting approximately 30 minutes.
  • Proceed to final hiring manager review and selection.
