The Role
OpenTrain is seeking an experienced CAD and simulation engineering consultant to design, solve, and review engineering tasks used in AI training and evaluation. You will develop CAD models, conduct simulation and analysis for aerospace, mechanical, and electrical components, and validate designs with industry-standard tools.
This role requires deep expertise in simulation workflows and the ability to produce clear, technically correct, and reproducible engineering solutions. You will work independently while documenting assumptions, methods, engineering decisions, and outcomes.

What You'll Do
You will translate technical requirements into structured engineering tasks and simulation workflows. Your work may cover aerospace, mechanical, and electrical components, with an emphasis on realistic inputs, defensible assumptions, and measurable results.
You will also assess other engineers' submissions for technical correctness and completeness, using analytical checks and domain expertise to validate their work.
Develop CAD models and perform simulation or analysis for aerospace, mechanical, and electrical components
Validate designs using CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB, or comparable tools
Create realistic problem statements, simulation models, calculations, schematics, and supporting technical assets
Validate simulation results through analytical checks
Review other engineers' submissions for technical correctness and completeness
Optimize designs based on simulation results
Document methodologies, engineering decisions, and outcomes
Use Python or MATLAB scripting for automation, analysis, and result processing
Required Qualifications
