The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking a Brazilian Portuguese Audio Transcriptionist to create high-quality transcriptions for AI training datasets. You will listen to real-world recordings in Brazilian Portuguese and apply detailed conventions to capture natural speech, including crosstalk, multiple speakers, informal language, and non-verbal sounds.
This is an entry-level, part-time contractor role for candidates in Brazil. The work is fully remote and asynchronous, with a time requirement of 20 or more hours per week. Compensation is $10-$35 USD per hour.

What You'll Do
You will transcribe spoken Brazilian Portuguese audio accurately and consistently, including difficult recordings and interview-style conversations. You will also document uncertainty clearly so that problematic segments can be reviewed appropriately.
Listen to spoken audio and produce detailed Brazilian Portuguese transcriptions
Handle overlapping speakers, background noise, filled pauses, and informal speech
Identify and differentiate multiple speakers in a single recording
Follow detailed transcription style and formatting guidelines
Apply conventions for non-verbal sounds, inaudible segments, and annotation markers
Maintain quality and accuracy across high volumes of audio content
Flag ambiguous or problematic audio with clear, structured notes
Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Requirements
This role requires native-level Brazilian Portuguese ability and an instinctive ear for natural speech patterns. Success depends on careful listening, consistent application of style guidance, and the patience to work through challenging audio.
