The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a bilingual Norwegian STEM AI Safety Evaluator to assess how advanced AI models respond to specialized scientific topics. You will write expert-level prompts in Norwegian, evaluate model responses, and apply structured review and classification guidelines.

The role requires PhD-level expertise in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field, together with strong awareness of chemical safety, biosafety, biosecurity, or other responsible-handling considerations. No prior AI or machine learning experience is required, and training on the workflow is provided.

• Remote contractor position open worldwide
• Part-time workload of less than 20 hours per week
• Pay of $77 to $81 per hour in USD

• Work with text generation, evaluation and rating, and classification tasks

What You'll Do

You will use sound scientific judgment to review technical content and determine whether model responses are accurate, helpful, and appropriately handled. The work includes specialized scientific topics and safety-related material where precise classification is essential.

• Write expert-level scientific prompts in Norwegian
• Evaluate model responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness
• Annotate responses involving sensitive or dual-use information
• Classify prompts and conversations using structured guidelines
• Assess chemical safety, biosafety, biosecurity, and related concerns
• Communicate precise scientific judgments in written reviews

Requirements

You should have an ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field, with enough subject depth to write prompts across chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear topics. Native or near-native Norwegian fluency and business-level written English are required.
