About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors write prompts, review model responses, classify conversations, and provide structured feedback that helps AI systems become more useful and reliable.

This work is part of a fast-growing technology field and can offer flexible, remote opportunities. Specialized projects such as safety evaluation benefit from strong language skills, careful judgment, and attention to detail.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Norwegian AI Safety Model Evaluator to assess and strengthen how advanced AI models respond to sensitive topics in Norwegian. You will combine Norwegian fluency, cultural judgment, and structured evaluation guidelines to review prompts and conversations.

The work includes handling sensitive and dual-use information with care. You will document the reasoning behind evaluation decisions and help identify patterns that could lead to unsafe or escalatory model behavior.

  • Remote, part-time contractor position
  • Default commitment of about 7 hours per week
  • Pay of $58 to $62 USD per hour
  • Norway preferred, though applicants elsewhere may also be considered

What You’ll Do

You will evaluate written AI interactions in Norwegian using project guidelines and careful written analysis. The role calls for consistent classification, clear reasoning, and sound judgment when content is sensitive or adversarial.

  • Write expert-level prompts in Norwegian across sensitive subject areas
  • Classify prompts and conversations using structured evaluation guidelines
  • Identify adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns
  • Assess model behavior in response to sensitive or dual-use information
  • Document the reasoning behind evaluation decisions
  • Support safer AI model behavior through careful written analysis

Requirements

This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates who meet the language, reasoning, and judgment requirements. Prior AI or machine learning experience is not required because relevant workflows can be learned on the project.

  • Native or near-native Norwegian fluency
  • Business-level written English
  • Strong written reasoning and close attention to detail
  • Sound judgment when working with sensitive or dual-use content
  • Ability to write prompts and classify conversations
  • Ability to recognize adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns
  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress

Helpful Background

Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content can be useful. Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing is also relevant.

Familiarity with Norwegian cultural context supports the language and judgment requirements of the work. These backgrounds are helpful but are not listed as required qualifications.
