About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. Contributors find projects, build profiles, and apply quickly to roles that teach AI systems how to understand language and context.

This role is part of that ecosystem of human-in-the-loop work where your linguistic expertise helps shape how AI models behave for real users.

About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people annotate, evaluate, and refine examples that models learn from. This job focuses on evaluating model outputs and creating high-quality bilingual references that improve model performance on Arabic and English tasks.

Work is flexible and remote, making it a good fit for skilled reviewers, translators, and editors who want part-time work that impacts cutting-edge AI.

The Role

You will evaluate AI-generated Arabic and English responses for reasoning quality, factual correctness, clarity, and localization. Where appropriate, you will write model solutions and provide detailed feedback to help models learn better problem-solving, translation choices, and culturally accurate phrasing.

  • Assess step-by-step problem-solving and methodological soundness
  • Identify factual, logical, or linguistic errors and note severity
  • Write clear model responses and corrections in Modern Standard Arabic and English
  • Rate outputs against project-specific evaluation rubrics

What You'll Do (Typical Tasks)

Daily tasks combine evaluation, writing, and quality assurance. You will follow detailed rubrics to score outputs, create corrected solutions, and annotate specific error types. Fact-checking using reputable public sources is required when verifying claims.

  • Rate AI responses using structured evaluation rubrics (EVALUATION_RATING)
  • Generate high-quality bilingual reference responses and model solutions (TEXT_GENERATION)
  • Provide written feedback explaining errors and suggested improvements
  • Apply Arabic localization conventions for MENA where appropriate

Requirements

Candidates must meet all stated requirements below to be considered. These are essential for maintaining quality and consistency across bilingual evaluations.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Translation, Arabic Language, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic and strong writing/editing skills in Modern Standard Arabic
  • Proficiency in at least one major Arabic dialect (Egyptian Arabic preferred)
  • Minimum C1 level English proficiency in reading and writing
  • 3+ years professional experience in translation, localization, editorial QA, content quality, or linguistic review
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing bilingual Arabic-English content for quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Familiarity with Arabic localization conventions for MENA (terminology, formatting, cultural nuance)
  • Strong fact-checking skills using reputable public sources

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are not required but will make your application stronger and may be preferred by hiring teams.

  • Previous experience with AI data training, annotation, evaluation, or language-model workflows
  • Prior work on bilingual evaluation projects or linguistics/translation QA for digital products
