The Role — Short, Urgent Audio Recording

We need native English speakers from the USA or Canada to complete an urgent audio recording project within the next 2–4 days. This is entry-level, part-time contractor work you can do remotely if you meet the location and equipment requirements.

You will record 11 specified trigger words, producing 132 high-quality audio clips total. Attention to timing, silence, and low background noise is essential.

• Total recordings: 11 trigger words × 12 recordings each = 132 clips.
• Environments required: quiet indoor space and a reflective space (e.g., bathroom or hallway).
• Emotional variations required in the quiet setting: angry, scared/panicked, worried, and excited.

What You'll Do

Follow the recording instructions precisely and submit all files by the deadline (2–4 days). Each audio file must include one second of silence before and after the spoken word and contain no background noise.

• Record each trigger word 12 times with specified variations in speed, tone, and emotion.
• In each environment (quiet and reflective) speak each word four times with different speeds/tones.
• In a quiet setting record each word in four emotional states: angry, scared/panicked, worried, excited.
• Ensure one second of silence at start and end of each clip and save files in the required audio format.

Requirements

Do not apply unless you meet the location and equipment criteria. This is time-sensitive work that must be completed in the next 2–4 days.

• Native English speaker residing in the USA or Canada.
• Reliable, good-quality microphone or headphones with a built-in microphone for clear recordings.
• Access to both a quiet indoor space and a reflective environment (bathroom, hallway, etc.).
• Attention to detail: must include one second of silence before and after each word and follow variation instructions exactly.
• Basic technical skills to record, name, and save audio files in the format specified at onboarding.
• Availability to finish all recordings within 2–4 days of beginning the project.

Schedule, Pay, and Employment Type

This is contract, part-time work expected to take less than 20 hours/week; complete the whole task within the 2–4 day window. Pay is $15 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).

• Estimated total time depends on recording speed and setup; plan for careful takes to meet quality standards.
• You will be paid at the stated hourly rate for time spent on the project as documented per OpenTrain guidelines.
