About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for an Audio Production Expert role focused on authentic audio production sessions using Ardour or LMMS. You will create, edit, mix, and refine multi-track audio projects, document your workflow from initial idea to polished mix, and explain the decisions behind your creative process. The work highlights experimentation, trial-and-error, and real-time corrections, with an emphasis on producing high-quality audio assets that meet professional standards.

What you will do
- Build and refine audio projects in Ardour or LMMS
- Mix multi-track sessions and layer sound elements into finished production
- Document your workflow and explain key creative decisions
- Deliver polished audio that reflects careful editing and artistic judgment
- Work remotely and collaborate on ongoing production feedback

Required skills
- Proven experience with Ardour or LMMS
- Strong audio editing, mixing, and music production skills
- Ability to communicate creative decisions clearly in writing and speech
- Experience building tracks or mixes from scratch
- A portfolio that shows completed work in the relevant tools

Helpful background
- Experience producing music, podcasts, or sound design
- Background in audio decision-making or audio education
- Comfortable adapting to new directions during production
