About AI Training and Data Collection
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People collect, prepare, and review real-world examples so AI and robotics systems can learn to understand movement, environments, language, and other patterns.
In this project, your smartphone recordings and motion-sensor data will contribute to datasets that support systems learning from human physical activity.
The At-Home Smartphone Motion Video Contributor Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an entry-level contractor to collect first-person video and synchronized smartphone IMU sensor data while completing assigned physical activities. You will use a smartphone mounted on a head strap, keeping both hands visible while recording from a first-person perspective.
This is a remote, part-time opportunity for contributors located in eligible U.S. states. The role requires at least 20 hours per week and pays $10–$15 per hour.
Employment type: Contractor and part-time
Experience level: Entry level
Work location: Remote from eligible U.S. states
Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
Pay: $10–$15 per hour
Primary language: English
What You'll Do
You will complete assigned movement activities carefully and consistently while following the project's technical and quality standards. Accurate recording, synchronization, documentation, and delivery are central to the work.
Record first-person video with a smartphone mounted on a head strap.
Perform specified physical movements while keeping both hands visible in the footage.
Capture accurate motion data using the smartphone's IMU sensors.
Keep video and sensor recordings synchronized.
Follow protocols for data quality, labeling, standardization, and delivery.
Document observations and communicate clearly about questions or issues.
Meet established project deliverables and delivery expectations.
Requirements and Equipment
You must have the required mobile equipment and be comfortable using it for video and sensor-data capture. Strong attention to detail and reliable adherence to standardized procedures are essential.
You should also be able to complete repetitive movement activities safely and communicate clearly in writing and conversation.
An iPhone 12 or later, Google Pixel 6 or later, or Samsung Galaxy S21 or later.
A head strap that can securely hold the phone while keeping both hands visible in first-person video.
Ability to capture synchronized first-person video and smartphone IMU sensor data.
Familiarity with smartphone video and sensor-data collection.
Strong attention to detail and consistent adherence to collection protocols.
Reliable delivery habits and clear written and verbal communication.
Ability to perform repetitive physical movements safely.
Helpful Background
Previous AI experience is not required if you can follow instructions and produce high-quality data. Experience or training in robotics, kinesiology, human movement analysis, sensor-based data collection, activity segmentation, machine-learning dataset labeling, or organizing large datasets for AI and robotics applications can be useful.
