The Role
OpenTrain AI is recruiting Smartphone Video Recorders to collect motion data for AI training. You will use your own compatible smartphone and a head strap to record specified physical activities from a first-person perspective while capturing sensor data through the device's IMU sensors.
This is an entry-level, part-time contractor role with a payment rate of $6 per hour. You will be expected to deliver 10 to 15 hours of approved video each week, within a total time requirement of less than 20 hours per week.

What You'll Do
You will follow detailed technical protocols to produce consistent, high-quality footage and motion data. Careful execution matters because standardized recordings give AI researchers reliable examples for training and evaluation.
Record specified physical activities using your smartphone's IMU sensors
Wear a head strap to mount the phone securely and capture first-person video showing both hands
Follow instructions for recording quality, labeling, and standardization
Deliver 10 to 15 hours of approved video each week
Communicate proactively with the team to clarify instructions and share observations
Complete a device compatibility check during onboarding
Participate in an AI-assisted interview during onboarding
Requirements
You should be comfortable recording video with a mobile device, following standardized protocols, and performing repetitive movement activities safely. The project requires dependable weekly deliveries and clear communication in a remote setting.
