The Role

OpenTrain is hiring an Assamese Language Review Specialist for hourly remote contractor work. You will review AI-generated Assamese content and create high-quality Assamese reference answers, assessing language quality, meaning, cultural appropriateness, prompt adherence, factual claims, and overall response quality.

What You'll Do

Your work will involve detailed linguistic review and rubric-based evaluation. You will compare multiple AI responses, identify problems, and produce rewrites or model answers that reflect best-practice Assamese usage.

• Review AI outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural fit
• Identify mistranslation, ambiguity, register issues, and logical inconsistencies
• Fact-check claims when needed and rewrite content to high-quality Assamese standards
• Create prompts and gold-standard Assamese answers across general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing
• Evaluate and rank responses for correctness, fluency, tone match, and safety
• Detect unsafe or misleading content, hallucinations, bias, and policy-risk language

Requirements

This role requires native or near-native Assamese language ability, strong professional English, and careful judgment when reviewing AI outputs or translations. You should be comfortable following detailed guidelines and explaining your decisions in written feedback.

• Native or near-native Assamese reading and writing ability
• Strong command of Assamese grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, and cultural appropriateness
• Strong professional English for detailed feedback and guideline following
• Ability to review translations and AI outputs for meaning preservation and factual reliability
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Assamese or English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• At least 3 years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language-focused work
• Comfort with formal, informal, and audience-specific usage, including regional variation within Assam and India versus diaspora audiences

Helpful Background

Prior AI training experience is strongly preferred, but related language-focused work can also prepare you for this role. Experience with editorial standards, localization workflows, or structured quality review will be valuable.

• Assamese copyediting or proofreading experience
• Translation quality review or localization workflow experience
• AI data training or rubric-based evaluation experience
• Careful judgment when comparing model responses or spotting fabricated claims

Schedule, Pay, and Location

This is remote hourly contractor work with a part-time schedule of 20 or more hours per week. The listed pay is up to $15 USD per hour.
