OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We make it easy to discover projects, build a lasting portfolio of AI training work, and grow a freelance career in this fast-growing field.
OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. We connect experienced contributors to focused engineering and QA work that directly shapes how modern AI systems behave.
AI training (data labeling and human feedback work) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Testers, annotators, and QA engineers help models learn by finding edge cases, evaluating outputs, and guiding improvements.
This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and product-quality for AI-powered web and mobile experiences — especially video generation tools — so your work will have direct impact on user experience and model behavior.
We’re hiring an AI Quality & Testing Software Engineer to evaluate AI-powered web and mobile products with a focus on video generation. This is a part-time contractor role (20+ hours/week), fully remote and open worldwide.
You will write test cases, document bugs and edge cases, contribute TypeScript fixes, analyze user feedback, and help maintain an organized repository of test documentation and engineering insights.
You must have a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent project-based experience. Demonstrable, real-world experience counts.
Strong TypeScript proficiency and experience shipping code to production is required. You should be comfortable reading, navigating, and contributing to complex codebases and repositories.
We value hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript testing frameworks, CI workflows, and bug-tracking practices. Prior exposure to video-processing or media pipelines is helpful but not required.
This role benefits from strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to reproducing and documenting issues across web and mobile environments.
This is a contractor, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week and is open to contributors worldwide. You will work remotely and set schedules that fit your availability while meeting project deadlines.
Compensation is hourly, paid in USD at a rate between $30 and $42 per hour depending on experience and demonstrated skill.
Apply if you’re an experienced TypeScript engineer with QA experience, a portfolio of self-built projects, and an interest in improving AI-powered video products. This is great for engineers who enjoy hands-on testing, clear documentation, and shipping reliable fixes.
To apply, prepare a short summary of relevant projects, links to your portfolio or repositories, and examples of testing or bug reports you’ve authored. OpenTrain AI will review applications and provide next steps.
