About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people starting and building careers in AI training and data labeling. Creating an OpenTrain account is free — discover projects, build a profile, and apply in minutes to work on real AI systems.
We connect healthcare experts with projects that shape how clinical and public health reasoning is encoded into AI. Contributors help ensure models are safe, accurate, and useful for real-world medical contexts.
About AI Training Work
AI training (data labeling / human feedback) is the human side of building modern AI. Experts annotate, evaluate, and improve examples the models learn from — here, that means reviewing clinical reasoning, fact-checking, and guiding model outputs so they meet medical standards.
This work is remote and flexible, often part-time, and well-suited to clinicians and public health professionals who want to influence next-generation medical AI without changing careers.
The Role
We are hiring MDs, nurses, public health specialists, and allied health professionals to review AI-generated medical responses and produce high-quality clinical content. This is a part-time contract role (less than 20 hours/week), fully remote and open worldwide.
Your core mission is to enhance the accuracy, clarity, and safety of clinical and public health reasoning in AI models by evaluating responses, writing model solutions, and providing precise, evidence-based feedback.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate AI-generated medical responses for clinical correctness, internal consistency, and patient safety.
- Rank and rate responses using structured evaluation rubrics (EVALUATION_RATING).
- Write model clinical solutions and sample answers (TEXT_GENERATION) that demonstrate correct reasoning and safe care.
- Answer clinical prompts and verify the accuracy of diagnoses, management plans, and public health recommendations (QUESTION_ANSWERING).
- Fact-check medical claims, identify contraindications or unsafe assumptions, and flag incorrect interpretation of symptoms or tests.
- Provide clear, written feedback explaining errors and suggesting safer, evidence-based alternatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences, or Allied Health.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant healthcare, clinical, or public health setting.
- Demonstrated clinical reasoning skills, including differential diagnosis and risk assessment.
- Strong knowledge of disease processes, patient care concepts, healthcare systems, and medical terminology.
- Experience reviewing, fact-checking, or validating medical content for accuracy and safety.
- Ability to identify contraindications, unsafe assumptions, and incorrect interpretation of symptoms, tests, or care plans.
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher and comfort evaluating logic, internal consistency, and setting appropriateness.
- Prior experience in AI training, annotation, clinical documentation review, utilization review, or healthcare editorial QA is preferred.
Who Should Apply
Apply if you are a practicing or former clinician, public health professional, or allied health expert who wants to shape how AI handles medical reasoning. This role is ideal for people who enjoy teaching, quality assurance, and crafting clear clinical explanations.
- Clinicians interested in part-time, impactful remote work.
- Healthcare professionals who have done medical writing, QA, utilization review, or editorial work.
- Experts comfortable translating clinical judgment into concise written guidance for models.
Compensation, Schedule, and How It Works
