About AI training and this work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is how people teach AI systems to behave: annotating data, evaluating model outputs, and providing the human judgment models need. This work is remote, flexible, and a direct way to shape cutting-edge AI systems.
As an AI Customer Support Specialist you’ll be part of that ecosystem by supporting users of an AI-powered product — ensuring problems are reproduced, well-documented, and escalated so engineering and product teams can improve the system.
The role
OpenTrain is recruiting an AI Customer Support Specialist to handle customer-reported technical issues for an AI-powered platform. This contractor, part-time role focuses on reproducing user problems, documenting findings, maintaining troubleshooting records, and escalating confirmed issues with clear analysis.
You will collaborate with internal teams to clarify priorities, share user feedback, and help drive improvements through organized issue tracking and customer-first communication.
What you'll do
Your day-to-day work centers on prompt, methodical support and clear documentation. You will act as the bridge between users and technical teams to make sure problems are understood and addressed.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer-reported technical issues.
Reproduce problems and document steps, environment, and results for internal review.
Maintain recurring-issue, troubleshooting, and resolution documentation.
Escalate complex or confirmed technical problems with supporting analysis and reproducible evidence.
Share user feedback to inform product priorities and improve the platform experience.
Communicate with empathy, clarity, and attention to detail to both users and internal teams.
Requirements
You must be able to work independently in a technical support workflow and communicate clearly with users and internal stakeholders.
Technical customer support experience for SaaS, software, or AI products (required).
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (language: en).
Ability to investigate, reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve user issues systematically.
Experience documenting technical issues, recurring problems, and resolution steps.
Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple ongoing issues.
Comfort working in a full-time support workflow despite part-time hours.
Must be based in the United States (country requirement).
Who should apply
This role is a good fit for people who enjoy technical troubleshooting, clear technical writing, and helping users get unstuck. Entry-level candidates with strong SaaS or software support experience are welcome.
Familiarity with AI products or generative AI tools is a plus but not required — what matters most is methodical problem-solving and excellent communication.
