About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect skilled contributors with projects that teach and shape how modern AI models behave.

This role is posted on OpenTrain because AI training is a fast-growing way to work in tech: remote, flexible, and directly involved in building state-of-the-art systems.

About AI training work

AI training (data labeling / annotation / human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Contributors annotate data, review model outputs, and evaluate code and model behavior so models learn from high-quality examples.

This position sits at the intersection of software engineering and AI training: your Python expertise will ensure the code and training items used to teach LLMs meet strict quality and SLA expectations.

The role

We are hiring Advanced Python QA professionals to perform code-quality reviews and quality assessments of LLM data training items created by other engineers. This is a long-term, remote contractor role focused on maintaining SLA standards and elevating the technical quality of AI training artifacts.

  • Type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Commitment: 30–40 hours per week, reliably, for the next 6+ months
  • Pay: $13 USD per hour
  • Work location: Remote, worldwide

What you'll do

Your primary responsibility is to ensure code and training items meet quality standards and customer SLA requirements. You will review, evaluate, and provide actionable feedback on Python code and LLM training artifacts produced by other engineers.

  • Maintain Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards required by customer contracts
  • Perform quality assessments of LLM data training items and engineering outputs
  • Review Python code for correctness, maintainability, and adherence to best practices
  • Document issues and communicate findings clearly to remote team members
  • Produce high-quality work with minimal or no supervision

Requirements

Candidates must meet all listed requirements. We will ask about your English proficiency level during the application process; a minimum B2 level is required.

  • At least 5 years of professional experience with Python
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Must be able to commit 30–40 hours per week reliably for the next 6+ months
  • Proven ability to conduct code quality assessments and ensure Python code quality
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and self-direction
  • Strong commitment to maintaining SLA standards
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a remote team
  • Stable internet connection and reliable electricity to ensure consistent remote work
  • Minimum B2 level of English proficiency (you will be asked to confirm your level)

Who should apply

This role is ideal for experienced Python developers who enjoy quality engineering, code review, and improving how code is used to train AI systems. If you take pride in precise, repeatable QA and can work independently in a remote team, this is a strong fit.

  • Senior or lead Python developers with QA experience
  • Engineers familiar with code review workflows and quality benchmarks
  • Candidates comfortable meeting strict SLA and availability expectations

How to apply

Apply through OpenTrain with your resume and a brief note confirming your availability (30–40 hrs/week), English proficiency level (B2 or higher), and years of Python experience. Include any relevant examples of past code review or QA work if available.

During application you will be asked to confirm the items above; selection will focus on demonstrated Python expertise, reliability, and ability to uphold SLA standards.

  • Submit resume and availability (30–40 hrs/week) via OpenTrain
  • State your English proficiency level (B2 or higher required)
  • Include brief examples or descriptions of previous Python QA or code-review work
