About this role OpenTrain is recruiting for a Senior Accounting & Audit AI Training Expert to work directly with a leading AI lab's research team. In this role, you will apply your accounting and audit expertise to improve how frontier AI models reason about real accounting work. You will review model outputs, write instruction specs and golden solutions, and build evaluation benchmarks.
What you will do - Vet the quality of accounting and audit knowledge work tasks and model outputs, identifying misapplied standards and unsupported treatments. - Write high-quality instruction specs and produce golden solutions to accounting and audit problems. - Design challenging accounting and audit tasks and evaluation sets to measure model improvement. - Collaborate with researchers and specialists to maintain consistent standards.

Required skills - Active professional credential (CPA, CA, CIA, CFE, or CMA) and a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or related field. - 4+ years of substantive accounting or audit experience at a recognized institution. - Genuine specialization in at least one area (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS, external audit, internal audit, tax, forensic accounting). - Hands-on experience with large language models and ability to distinguish well-reasoned answers from plausible-sounding wrong ones. - Excellent written communication skills. - Availability to commit to 40 hours per week for an initial 6-month engagement. - Must live in the Bay Area, California, and be able to work on-site multiple days per week.
Helpful background - Experience at senior level such as Audit Manager, Accounting Manager, Controller, or Partner.
