The Role
OpenTrain is seeking an Accounting and Audit AI Training Expert to create, evaluate, and refine realistic accounting and audit tasks used to train advanced AI systems. You will combine deep accounting expertise with structured quality review and the development of high-difficulty tasks and gold-standard solutions.
The work requires sound professional judgment across financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and assurance scenarios. You will help ensure that model outputs and contributor work align with professional standards and real-world practice.

What You'll Do
You will develop accounting and audit content that challenges advanced AI systems and reflects the decisions professionals make in practice. You will also review work systematically, assess risk, verify evidence, and identify material issues.
When evaluation criteria are unclear or an issue represents a genuine edge case, you will escalate it to the appropriate functional expert lead.
Create accounting and audit tasks for AI training
Write gold-standard solutions and verify their accuracy
Review and calibrate contributor output

Required Qualifications
This role requires substantial professional experience and is suited to an accounting or audit expert with 8 to 15 years of experience. Manager- to Director-level public accounting experience or experience working as an industry Controller is expected.
You must be able to explain complex accounting conclusions clearly and apply expert judgment when evaluating technical work, evidence, risks, and reporting outcomes.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Helpful Background
Experience with AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or another analytical discipline is useful but not required. The strongest candidates can apply rigorous accounting judgment while adapting that expertise to structured AI evaluation work.
