About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for an Academic and Education Content Evaluation Expert to create and assess realistic professional-writing scenarios and education-domain content used in AI training work. The role covers academic, business, technical, and career-related contexts, with a focus on accurate, well-structured, professionally written material grounded in U.S. education practices and institutional expectations. You will use subject-matter judgment to improve the realism, clarity, consistency, inclusivity, and academic integrity of education-related tasks.

What you will do
You will create and evaluate realistic academic and education-domain scenarios, develop business, technical, academic, and career-related education content, and apply appropriate terminology, tone, structure, formatting, standards, policies, and regulatory considerations for different audiences. You will review content for inaccuracies, unsupported claims, unclear explanations, compliance concerns, and academic integrity issues, then provide expert feedback and collaborate with project teams to refine education-related use cases.

Required skills
You should have professional experience in academia, education, research, or academic administration, with strong expertise in at least one relevant specialization. Strong written and verbal communication, analytical ability, research skills, and critical thinking are required. You should understand U.S. academic practices, education systems, institutional expectations, and relevant regulations, and be able to explain complex academic or subject-matter concepts clearly and accurately. Experience creating, reviewing, teaching, researching, or managing academic and education-related content is important.

Helpful background
Experience as a professor, lecturer, teacher, researcher, academic advisor, program coordinator, instructional designer, or education administrator is valuable. Familiarity with curriculum systems, learning management systems, academic assessment tools, education technology, research platforms, institutional data systems, accessibility, academic integrity, or regulatory compliance is also useful. A master's degree, doctorate, or equivalent advanced qualification may support this work.

Schedule and engagement
This is a remote contractor engagement requiring 40 hours per week, including 8 hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time. The engagement may last up to 5 weeks.
