About AI training work

AI training (data labeling and annotation) is the human side of building modern AI. Contributors create and review examples—like voice recordings used to teach IVR and call-routing systems—so models learn to understand real people and real speech.

This work is often fully remote, flexible, and accessible to entry-level contributors. Many projects let you choose your hours and fit short tasks around other commitments, while you directly influence how AI systems behave.

The role

Record a short, supervised batch of phone greetings and operator/voicemail clips in your native language using our web tool and your in-country mobile network. You will record approximately 30 short clips (each up to 30 seconds); the exact number depends on the operator message type assigned.

This batch is remote and flexible—most participants finish in 30–45 minutes. Recordings capture real phone greetings and voicemail audio to improve IVR and call-routing models.

  • Task type: Audio recording of scripted phone greetings and operator/voicemail clips.
  • Clip length: Each recording is ≤30 seconds.
  • Tool: Recordings are submitted via our web tool using your in-country mobile connection.

Who we need (eligible languages & countries)

We are seeking native speakers who are physically located in the matching country for their language. Eligible language-country pairs:

Flemish (Belgium), Danish (Denmark), French (France), German (Germany), Irish/English (Ireland), Italian (Italy), Dutch (Netherlands), Portuguese (Portugal), Spanish (Spain), English (United Kingdom).

  • You must be a native speaker of the language you apply for and currently located in the corresponding country.
  • Recordings must be made on the local cellular network using an in-country mobile number or SIM (no VoIP).

Requirements & qualification checklist

You will complete a short qualification process to confirm language, identity, consent, and audio quality. Only applicants who pass the checklist will be assigned the full batch.

  • Age and consent: 18+ and willing to sign consent for use of your voice in model training and QA.
  • Location and nativeness: Currently located in the required country and a native speaker of the selected language; non-natives will be rejected.
  • Device & network: Smartphone with working microphone, access to a quiet environment, and an in-country mobile number/SIM (not VoIP).
  • Carrier info: You'll be asked which mobile carrier you use (for dataset metadata).
  • Availability: Can complete ~30 recordings within 24–48 hours of assignment and submit 2–3 short qualification clips first.
  • Integrity: One account per person; submit only original recordings (no voice changers or synthetic audio).
  • Optional: You may be asked to share gender and region/dialect to help balance the dataset.

Compensation, time estimate, and format

Compensation for this batch is advertised as $24–$36 for approximately 30 recordings; most participants finish in 30–45 minutes. Payment and timing details will be provided in the assignment.

Employment type: Contractor, part-time. Time requirement: Less than 20 hours/week; this specific task is short and one-off.

  • Typical payout range: $24–$36 per completed batch of ~30 clips.
  • Expected completion time: 30–45 minutes for most participants.
  • You will record 15 scripted phone greetings plus about 15 operator-voicemail clips, depending on assignment.
