The Role

As a Video Event Annotation Specialist you will produce high-accuracy event annotations for short video clips used to train AI systems. OpenTrain AI is hiring contractors to perform segmentation and text-generation labeling: marking precise start/end timestamps, writing short descriptions of events, and performing self-quality checks.

This is a part-time, contractor position requiring 20+ hours per week. Work is remote but limited to candidates located in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom who speak and write English at a native level.

What You’ll Do

You will follow project-specific guidelines to find recurring events in short video clips, annotate precise start and end timestamps for each event, and write concise, consistent descriptions for every annotation. You will also review your own work and adapt to changing instructions and quality standards.

• Identify recurring events in short video clips according to guidelines

• Self-review annotations and correct issues based on feedback and updated instructions
• Communicate in writing and verbally to resolve ambiguous or edge cases

Requirements

Candidates must meet the essential skills and experience below. All requirements come from the project description and are required for successful application.

• Native-level English proficiency in speaking and writing
• Experience in video annotation, content moderation, video editing, videography, or closely related work
• Ability to identify recurring events in short video clips and mark precise timestamps
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-accuracy labeling
• Ability to follow complex annotation guidelines and adapt quickly to feedback
• Background in AI training or machine-learning data annotation is a plus (not required)

Pay and Labeling Details

Pay is hourly: $65–$80 USD per hour. The rate varies by task and experience; the posted hourly rate is up to $80/hr. This project focuses on video data and includes segmentation and text-generation labels.

Labeling software will be provided by OpenTrain AI or specified when you join a project; prior familiarity with annotation tools is helpful but not required.
