The role

As an Uzbek Bilingual Video Transcription Expert you will produce high-quality Uzbek transcriptions from video, add precise timestamps, and perform detailed linguistic review. You will describe speaker emotion, tone, intent, and provide feedback on grammar, syntax, and idiomatic meaning.

This is a part-time contractor role with a minimum weekly commitment of 15 hours; overall time commitment is under 20 hours per week. Work is 100% remote and open worldwide.

What you'll do

Day-to-day tasks focus on accurate transcription and contextual linguistic annotation to help improve language models and datasets.

• Transcribe Uzbek-language video content with high accuracy.
• Add precise timestamps for dialogue turns and scene changes.
• Annotate speaker emotion, intent, tone, and mood shifts.
• Review and note grammar, syntax, and nuanced word meanings in context.
• Provide clear linguistic feedback and suggestions to improve clarity and fidelity.
• Classify segments where relevant (e.g., speaker role, speech/non-speech, language switches).

Requirements

Candidates must meet the core language and task experience requirements below. We do not require a specific degree, but you must be able to demonstrate language proficiency and relevant experience.

• Native or near-native proficiency in Uzbek and English (required).
• Experience transcribing video or spoken language content.
• Ability to analyze speaker emotion, tone, and intent from audio/video.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Uzbek and English.
• Solid understanding of Uzbek and English grammar, syntax, idioms, and cultural context.
• Comfort working with digital content and collaborative online platforms.
• Minimum availability of 15 hours per week; overall role is under 20 hours/week.

Helpful background

These qualifications are a plus and can help you stand out, but they are not strictly required.

• Degree or coursework in Linguistics, Philology, Translation Studies, or related fields.
• Experience with linguistic annotation, corpus analysis, or transcription tools.
• Background in educational, research, or media translation projects.

How work, pay, and contracting work

This is a part-time contractor role with pay on an hourly basis. OpenTrain AI manages contracting and project assignments.

Pay range: $45–$95 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR). Exact rate is set per assignment based on experience and task complexity.
