The Role
OpenTrain is seeking an intermediate UI / Visual Designer Specialist for a writing-intensive design systems project. You will critically assess digital interfaces, explain your design reasoning, and develop practical guidance around visual design, component libraries, accessibility, and responsive experiences.
The work requires fluent English and advanced English writing skills. You should be comfortable turning detailed design knowledge into structured, persuasive written rationales and documentation.

What You'll Do
You will complete text-based generation and evaluation tasks grounded in UI design systems and visual interface design. Your work will combine interface critique, design documentation, and clear written explanations of design decisions.
Evaluate user interfaces and analyze strengths and weaknesses in visual and interaction design
Write structured, well-reasoned rationales for design decisions, analysis, and recommendations
Develop and articulate principles, patterns, and guidelines for robust design systems

Requirements And Qualifications
You should bring substantial practical experience in UI, visual, or product design, supported by a strong portfolio of digital work. The role values both visual craft and the ability to communicate complex design choices clearly and analytically.
At least 3 years of experience in UI, visual, or product design
Deep expertise in typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, layout, and responsive design
Proficiency in Figma
Experience with design systems and component libraries
Experience documenting design systems or writing component guidelines with detailed rationales
Strong written communication skills
Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and their practical application
Fluent English proficiency and advanced English writing skills
