The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Brand Design AI Evaluation Expert to evaluate real-world brand and design work. You will help define what excellent work looks like, assess AI-generated and human work samples, and explain your judgments through precise, evidence-based written rationales.
This role is suited to a brand, visual, or graphic design professional with strong identity and critique skills. The default commitment is 40 hours per week, while the listed time requirement is 20 or more hours per week.

What You’ll Do
You will create precise, task-specific grading criteria and apply them consistently across completed samples. Your work will require detailed creative analysis, clear written reasoning, and careful attention to reproducibility.
You will also incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and participate comfortably in peer calibration and review.
Create grading criteria for brand identity systems and logos
Evaluate visual identities, campaigns, marketing visuals, and packaging concepts
Review presentations, layouts, digital assets, social assets, and brand messaging
Score completed samples against defined criteria
Provide detailed evidence-based justifications for each score
Assess typography, layout, visual hierarchy, color, and composition
Evaluate identity systems and brand positioning
Apply consistent and reproducible creative judgment
Incorporate feedback from senior reviewers
Requirements and Preferred Experience
You should have at least five years of professional experience in brand, visual, or graphic design, preferably at an independent brand or design agency. Strong command of the core principles of visual design and the ability to communicate rigorous creative critiques in exceptionally clear writing are required.
