About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people start and grow careers teaching AI by connecting contributors with projects that shape how state-of-the-art models behave.
About AI Training Work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building AI. Contributors create, review, and rate examples and responses so models learn to make better decisions. These projects are often remote, flexible, and open to people with domain knowledge rather than formal AI degrees.
The Role
We are hiring a UI/UX Designer for a contract project to build and evaluate an AI-driven interview that assesses candidates' product-design and user-experience skills. This is a text-based task: you will create prompts, review candidate or model responses, and assign evaluation ratings based on clearly defined criteria.
- Contractor engagement, fixed-price payment of USD 100 for the completed assessment task
- Worldwide applicants welcome; intermediate level (2+ years) required
- Work with text-based interview data (dataType: TEXT) using OTHER labeling software
What You'll Do
Your work centers on designing interview prompts and evaluating responses to measure practical UI/UX skills. Tasks map to the project's label types and will be text-focused.
- Design and refine AI interview prompts that probe user research, wireframing, prototyping, and design-system thinking
- Review candidate or model text responses and provide qualitative feedback and evaluation ratings (EVALUATION_RATING)
- Produce example answers or guidance where needed (TEXT_GENERATION)
- Answer candidate questions or clarify prompts when required (QUESTION_ANSWERING)
- Document rubrics and justify ratings with clear explanations of design decisions and trade-offs
Requirements
Candidates must meet the project's explicit qualifications. We preserve every substantive requirement from the brief; do not apply unless you meet these standards.
- 2+ years of professional experience in UI/UX or product design
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma (ability should be describable in your responses)
- Ability to translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences and design systems
- Experience explaining design decisions, trade-offs, and solving usability challenges
- Knowledge of accessibility and responsive-design best practices
- A portfolio with end-to-end design projects you can discuss during the AI interview
How This Project Works
This is a single fixed-price contract where tasks are text-based and map to three label types: rating responses, generating example text, and answering questions. You will interact with an AI interview format designed to measure the skills above.
- Data type: TEXT — all tasks involve reading and writing text
- Label types: EVALUATION_RATING, TEXT_GENERATION, QUESTION_ANSWERING
- — you will be given access details after selection
- Payment: fixed-price USD 100 for completion of the project
Who Should Apply
Apply if you are an experienced UI/UX professional who enjoys explaining design thinking, writing clear rubrics, and evaluating text-based responses. This is a great fit for designers who want flexible, remote contract work that directly shapes how AI assesses product-design talent.
- Intermediate designers with tangible portfolio projects and practical research experience
- People comfortable working with text-driven evaluations and producing concise, actionable feedback
- Remote contractors available to complete a focused, fixed-scope assessment task
