The Technical Expert Interviewer Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Technical Expert Interviewer for an AI model training and evaluation engagement. You will conduct structured conversations with experts in GPU kernel development, security and vulnerability research, and machine learning compiler or accelerator systems.

The role combines technical assessment, evidence-based judgment, and concise written evaluation. The listed experience level is entry level, while prior recruiting, interviewing, or technical-vetting experience is required.

  • Fully remote contract role for candidates in the United States
  • Approximately 10 hours per week during weekday business hours
  • Approximately 20 minutes per structured technical interview
  • Pay: $50-$60 per hour
  • Part-time contractor engagement

What You’ll Do

You will use a provided rubric to assess technical depth, communication, and alignment with evaluation criteria. Each evaluation should be consistent, timely, and grounded in specific evidence from the conversation.

  • Conduct approximately 20-minute structured technical interviews
  • Assess senior engineers in technically demanding fields
  • Apply a consistent evaluation rubric

  • Write concise summaries explaining the evidence behind each evaluation
  • Coordinate interview scheduling

Required Skills and Experience

Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing, or technical vetting is required. You should be comfortable evaluating senior engineers and leading warm, professional conversations about technically demanding work.
