About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the centralized, open platform where AI training and data-labeling freelancers find work, consolidate opportunities across platforms, and build a unified AI training portfolio they control. We make specialized AI training work easier to track, apply for, and grow into a durable freelance career.

About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Technical Expert Interviewer to support an AI model training and evaluation engagement. You will conduct structured technical conversations with experts in GPU kernel development, security and vulnerability research, and ML compiler or accelerator domains. The role combines technical assessment, evidence-based judgment, and concise written evaluation so that expertise can be assessed consistently against a provided rubric.

What you will do
Conduct approximately 20-minute structured technical interviews with experts. Assess technical depth, communication, and alignment with evaluation criteria. Apply a consistent rubric to document observations and conclusions. Write concise summaries that clearly explain the evidence supporting each evaluation. Coordinate interview scheduling and maintain organized, timely records.

Required skills
Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing, or technical vetting is required. You should be comfortable evaluating senior engineers in technically demanding fields and conducting warm, professional conversations. Strong communication, structured judgment, careful attention to evidence, and reliable time management are important. Familiarity with GPU kernels, security research, ML compilers, or accelerator systems is valuable.

Schedule and pay
This is a fully remote contract role for candidates in the USA. The expected commitment is about 10 hours per week during weekday business hours. The pay rate is $50‑$60 per hour.

Why work with OpenTrain
OpenTrain gives freelancers one place to manage AI training opportunities instead of rebuilding proof of work on every platform. A stronger OpenTrain profile helps you show credible experience, discover roles that match your skills, and turn AI training and data-labeling work into a long-term portfolio.
