The Role
As a Mechanical Engineering Expert, you will evaluate and solve advanced mechanical engineering problems spanning design, structural and thermal analysis, and research and development. You will apply practical engineering judgment to real-world design and analysis scenarios as well as theoretical questions.
This contractor role is designed for an experienced mechanical engineer with strong technical communication skills and the ability to assess complex work against rigorous engineering expectations.

What You'll Do
You will review technical content, solve challenging engineering problems, and document your reasoning clearly. Your feedback will be used to inform model improvements and refine AI reasoning in mechanical engineering.
Work may involve analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical systems using industry-standard techniques, including finite element analysis, statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, and vibration analysis.
Assess AI-generated responses for technical correctness, accuracy, and engineering quality
Solve advanced mechanical engineering problems in design, structural analysis, thermal analysis, and R&D
Use FEA, hand calculations, experimental validation, and other established analysis techniques
Apply design-for-reliability practices and familiarity with relevant ASME standards and codes
Provide clear written and verbal explanations of technical feedback
Collaborate with remote experts and project participants
Required and Preferred Qualifications
You should have an MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or a BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least eight years of relevant industry experience. At least five years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, analysis, or R&D is expected.
Professional English proficiency and exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience with FEA or simulation software, CAD platforms, or product R&D in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Expert knowledge of statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, FEA, and vibration or structural analysis
Ability to analyze complex mechanical systems using finite element methods, hand calculations, and experimental validation
Familiarity with ASME BPVC, ASME codes, and design-for-reliability practices
Fluent English proficiency and comfort working in English
Evidence of problem-authoring rigor is strongly preferred
