About OpenTrain AI

OpenTrain AI is the hiring organization for this role. OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling — a place to discover projects, grow a portfolio, and turn short-term tasks into long-term freelance opportunities.

We focus on creating reliable, repeatable work for remote contractors who want flexibility, clear feedback, and projects that develop valuable skills in the fast-growing AI training industry.

About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create, correct, and evaluate examples the models learn from. Contributors often work remotely, set flexible hours, and take on tasks like transcription, rating model outputs, and evaluating spoken-language content.

This project centers on Tamang-language multimedia: your transcriptions and evaluations will directly shape how models understand and generate Tamang speech and text.

The Role

We are hiring a Tamang Language Analysis Specialist to transcribe Tamang audio/video, evaluate model outputs, and provide written feedback that helps improve model behavior. This is a remote, contract, part-time role with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week.

No prior AI-labeling experience is required; the role prioritizes real-world Tamang language expertise, careful attention to detail, and strong written communication in English.

What You'll Do

  • Transcribe Tamang-language audio and video accurately, including marking timestamps and speaker turns where required.
  • Review model outputs and source materials against detailed project guidelines and rubrics.
  • Correct errors in transcriptions and flag unclear or low-quality audio segments.
  • Provide clear, constructive written explanations for your judgments so feedback can be used to refine model behavior.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across repeated review tasks to ensure reliable training data.

Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in Tamang (taj) and professional-level English communication.
  • Relevant professional, academic, or language expertise in Tamang language analysis, translation, transcription, or editing.
  • Ability to transcribe multimedia accurately and apply timestamps and speaker labels when required.
  • Skill at assessing tone, emotion, and speaker intent in spoken language.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow written rubrics, and comfort working independently on remote contractor tasks.

Schedule, Pay, and Project Scope

This contract role requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week on multimedia language tasks and fits within a part-time schedule (less than 20 hours/week). Work is remote and can be completed from most locations worldwide.

Pay range: $40–$95 per hour (USD). Estimated project earnings are $6,400–$15,200 based on the schedule and duration shown on OpenTrain.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Data types: Audio (multimedia).
  • Labeling tasks: Transcription and evaluation/rating of model outputs.

How It Works / How To Apply

Create or use your OpenTrain profile to apply. Submit your application with evidence of Tamang fluency and any relevant experience (transcription samples, translation work, or linguistic background).

If selected, you will receive project guidelines and rubrics, access to the labeling interface, and onboarding instructions. OpenTrain helps you track completed work and build a portfolio of AI training contributions.

  • Worldwide applicants welcome; strong Tamang fluency and English required.
  • No prior AI-training experience required unless stated elsewhere on your project page.
