The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a native Swiss German voice actor based in Switzerland to create high-quality recordings for training and evaluating next-generation text-to-speech systems. This is paid freelance contractor work. Your recordings may be used for voice cloning in the specified internal CX AI Agent use case.

You will record expressive, consistent audio across conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts. The work requires precise pronunciation, controlled delivery, and the ability to follow technical recording instructions.

• Employment type: Freelance contractor, part time
• Location: Switzerland; remote
• Time commitment: 5–10 hours per week, less than 20 hours per week
• Compensation: $50–$150 USD per hour

What You'll Do

You will deliver polished voice recordings while maintaining a consistent accent, tone, and performance across sessions. Multiple takes and vocal variations may be required to capture different emotions, emphasis, and delivery styles.

• Record conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts
• Deliver clear, natural, expressive speech with precise tone, pacing, and pronunciation
• Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions
• Follow guidelines for the recording environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
• Perform multiple takes with varied emotion, emphasis, and style when requested

Requirements

This project is suited to a native-level Swiss German speaker with professional or near-professional recording capabilities and proven voice performance experience.

• Native Swiss German speaker currently based in Switzerland
• Professional experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting
• Professional or near-professional recording setup, including a quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter
• Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural delivery
• Comfort with voice cloning for the specified use case

Helpful Background

The following experience is helpful but not required by the core role description.

• Recording for text-to-speech, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets
• Familiarity with Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, or similar audio editing tools
• Ability to deliver conversational, corporate, energetic, or calm vocal styles
