About this role OpenTrain is recruiting a bilingual Spanish scientific AI safety evaluator to help assess and improve advanced AI models on specialized technical topics. You will apply scientific judgment to Spanish-language model evaluation, with particular attention to accuracy, helpfulness, sensitive content, and the responsible handling of dual-use information.
What you will do You will write expert-level prompts in Spanish across specialized scientific topics. You will evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content. You will apply structured evaluation guidelines to classify prompts and conversations and identify unsafe, misleading, or scientifically weak model behavior.
Required skills This role requires PhD-level training in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field, either ongoing or completed. You should have native or near-native Spanish proficiency, business-level written English, deep familiarity with modern laboratory or computational techniques in a scientific subfield, and sound judgment around scientific safety and the responsible handling of dual-use information. You should also be able to write precise, expert-level prompts and assess technical answers in Spanish.
Helpful background Helpful experience includes organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, genetics, radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics. Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling is valuable, as is experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content. Applicants in Spain or wider Western Europe are particularly welcome, while applicants elsewhere may also be considered.
