The role
We are recruiting a Software Engineering AI Training Expert to create reinforcement-learning environments that test and improve AI models on complex software engineering problems. This is a contract, part-time position (less than 20 hours/week) open to contributors worldwide who work in English.
You will design reproducible environments with golden reference solutions, produce expert code samples and debugging strategies, and validate peer submissions to help train next-generation coding models.
What you'll do
Design reinforcement learning environments that test model capabilities such as fixing code, creating features, refactoring, and performance optimization.
Build reproducible environments and include golden reference solutions for automated and human evaluation.
Provide expert-level code samples, debugging strategies, and development insights in one or more languages: Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and performance bottlenecks.
Implement robust new features with attention to scalability and maintainability.
Refactor and optimize legacy codebases to demonstrate correct behavior and best practices.
Document technical reasoning and code decisions clearly for use as training signals.
Review and validate peer-contributed code and technical submissions, rating correctness and quality.
Requirements

Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and core software engineering principles.

Strong documentation and written communication skills in English.
Interest in AI and its technical challenges; prior AI experience is not required.
