About OpenTrain AI

OpenTrain AI is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect experienced technologists with work that directly shapes how modern AI systems behave.

This role is hired directly by OpenTrain AI. You will join a growing, remote-first team that values clear technical judgment, reproducible validation, and concise mentoring feedback.

About AI training and why it matters

AI training (data labeling / annotation) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people prepare, verify, and correct examples that models learn from. This work is often remote, flexible, and highly impactful — contributors improve model correctness, safety, and real-world usefulness.

As a code reviewer on OpenTrain, you will help ensure that code used to train next-generation models is correct, secure, performant, and accessible — directly influencing model behavior and downstream quality.

The role

You will audit annotator reviews of AI-generated Angular/TypeScript code (Angular v15+). For each example you will build the snippet in a sandboxed environment, verify it matches the prompt, confirm it compiles and runs, and check it against our security, performance, and accessibility rubrics.

When a review is incorrect, you will correct its rating and provide concise, actionable feedback so annotators learn and future training data meets our quality standards.

What you'll do day-to-day

Work asynchronously to validate code examples against prompts using containerized builds and sandboxed environments.

Verify compilation and runtime behavior, write or run tests as needed, and use profiling tools to detect performance regressions.

Evaluate code for security vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF, injection, supply-chain concerns) and for accessibility (WCAG) and bundle/performance best practices.

  • Build and run Angular snippets in isolated sandboxes (Docker/multi-stage images).
  • Confirm prompt compliance and correctness; correct mis-ratings and annotate with concise feedback.
  • Use testing tools (Jest/Karma, Cypress/Playwright, Angular Testing Library) and coverage/profiling tools (Istanbul, DevTools).
  • Assess performance: AoT, lazy-loading, RxJS efficiency, bundle size, Web Vitals and CLS.
  • Check accessibility of components against WCAG guidelines and recommend fixes.

Requirements

Preserve every requirement below — they are required for the role.

This is a technical, hands-on reviewer role: you must be comfortable validating builds, running tests, and working from a rubric.

  • 7+ years professional TypeScript/Angular development, QA, or dedicated code-review experience.
  • Deep Angular expertise: standalone components, Ivy, Angular CLI, SSR/Universal, NgRx or similar state patterns, Signal Store familiarity.
  • Advanced TypeScript: generics, strict mode, decorators, module resolution, ES2023+ features.
  • Testing & debugging proficiency with Jest/Karma, Cypress/Playwright, Angular Testing Library, and coverage tools (Istanbul).
  • Secure coding experience: detect/mitigate XSS, CSRF, injection, and supply-chain vulnerabilities; familiarity with OWASP guidance.
  • Performance & accessibility experience: bundle optimization, Web Vitals, CLS, and WCAG-compliant UI work.
  • DevOps/toolchain skills: Docker (containerized builds), CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab), and PR/MR workflows.
  • Comfortable with rubric-based scoring, checklist reviews, and ticketing/annotation tools (Jira, Asana).
  • Excellent written English (B2+ CEFR) to provide concise feedback and mentoring.

Who should apply

Experienced Angular authors and senior front-end engineers who enjoy code review, QA, and mentoring will thrive here. This role suits people who like reproducible validation — spinning up builds, running tests, and documenting outcomes.

Nice-to-have but not required: prior exposure to LLM evaluation, RLHF, or AI/ML annotation workflows; familiarity with security auditing or accessibility remediation is a plus.

Working details and pay

Part-time contractor role: 20+ hours per week, fully remote and open worldwide. You will be engaged on a contract basis with flexible scheduling.

Compensation: USD $24 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR). OpenTrain provides the work, rubric, and tooling; you provide the technical validation, corrections, and feedback.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours/week.
  • Pay: $24 USD per hour.

How to apply

If this role matches your skills and availability, apply through OpenTrain with a summary of your Angular/TypeScript experience and examples of past code-review or QA work.

Be prepared to demonstrate proof-of-work: spinning up a containerized build and summarizing findings is part of the validation process.
