AI and robotics systems learn from carefully collected examples. Human contributors record, review, and organize real-world data so models can better understand movement, environments, and physical activity. This work is part of the growing human side of building modern AI.
OpenTrain is hiring Smartphone Motion Data Video Recorders to support Human Motion Data Capture. You will collect synchronized first-person video and smartphone inertial measurement unit, or IMU, motion data while completing specified physical activities.
The role is designed for careful, reliable data collectors who can follow detailed technical instructions and maintain consistent quality. Work is part-time, contract-based, and requires less than 20 hours per week.
You will use a compatible smartphone and head strap to capture video from a first-person perspective while keeping both hands visible. You will also collect smartphone IMU data during the assigned activities and protect the integrity of the video and sensor information.
The work requires consistent execution of repetitive physical movements, careful documentation, and clear communication with the project team about observations or questions.
You must have access to a compatible smartphone and a suitable head strap. Strong attention to detail, reliable data collection habits, and the ability to follow standardized protocols are essential.
You should be comfortable using mobile devices for video and sensor-data capture, managing remote contractor tasks, documenting observations, and safely performing repetitive physical movements.
Previous AI training experience is not required. Background knowledge or experience in robotics, kinesiology, human-motion analysis, sensor data collection, activity segmentation, or machine-learning dataset labeling can be helpful.
This opportunity is available to candidates in Argentina, The Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, and Uruguay. Apply through OpenTrain by creating a free account, building your profile, and submitting your application in minutes.
