Senior Backend Engineer (Python/FastAPI) for AI Evaluation

You will create and evaluate software engineering examples for AI training and benchmarking. The work includes building solutions, improving AI-generated code, and checking software quality.

• Curate Python code examples for backend services, data pipelines, and machine learning infrastructure.
• Build solutions and correct AI-generated code for quality, efficiency, scalability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Create Python agents and automated tools to find code errors and check solutions.
• Evaluate software across prototyping, architecture and API design, implementation, launch, experiments, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Design automated checks for software engineering tasks and contribute coding solutions measured against industry benchmarks.
• Write clear, structured explanations for technical evaluations.

What it takes

• Location: Open to candidates in the United States.
• Schedule: At least 20 hours per week.
• Engagement: Flexible contractor work, initially for one month, with possible extensions based on performance and fit.
• At least three years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills, including production frameworks and tools.
• Experience building full-stack applications and deploying scalable software.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code quality assessment.
• Additional experience with JavaScript or ReactJS, C or C++, Java, Rust, or Go is valuable. Experience shipping high-impact products in a fast-moving engineering environment is helpful.
