Senior Backend Engineer (Python/FastAPI) for AI Evaluation

Create and assess software engineering examples used to train and benchmark AI models. Apply production software judgment to code tasks focused on systems, infrastructure, performance, scale, and reliability.

• Curate code examples, write solutions, and correct code in Python, C/C++, Rust, Go, Java, and JavaScript, including ReactJS.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Build agents and automated checks to verify systems and infrastructure code, and identify recurring errors.
• Assess model abilities across prototyping, architecture, API design, production implementation, monitoring, and operational maintenance.
• Write and explain clear, structured evaluations in writing and orally.

What it pays and takes

• Hours: 20+ per week, with a flexible schedule.
• Location: Remote; open to candidates in the United States.
• Engagement: Part-time contractor role, initially one month, with potential extensions.
• Skills: Strong expertise in systems programming, infrastructure, or backend development; experience building and deploying scalable, production-grade software; and knowledge of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code review.
• Programming: Practical proficiency in one or more relevant languages, including Python, C/C++, Rust, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
• A computer science education can be helpful, but demonstrated technical ability matters more.
