About AI Training and Safety Evaluation

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Russian Scientific AI Safety Evaluator to support AI training focused on Russian scientific topics. You will apply advanced knowledge in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field while communicating precise judgments in Russian and English.

Prior AI training experience is not required. The role is suited to a scientific expert who can assess technical content carefully, follow detailed guidelines, and make sound decisions about scientific safety.

What You'll Do

You will create and assess text-based training examples across specialized scientific topics. Your work will help identify whether AI-generated content is scientifically accurate, useful, clearly communicated, and appropriately cautious when it involves sensitive or dual-use information.

  • Write expert-level prompts in Russian on specialized scientific subjects
  • Evaluate model responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness
  • Assess whether responses handle sensitive and dual-use content safely
  • Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations
  • Explain evaluation decisions clearly in writing
  • Maintain consistent quality across review tasks

Requirements and Relevant Expertise

You should have PhD-level expertise in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field, with the degree either ongoing or completed. Your background should support work across chemical, biological, or related technical topics.

Native or near-native Russian fluency and business-level written English are required. You should also be comfortable working independently as a contractor, reviewing technical material remotely, and following detailed evaluation instructions consistently.

  • Depth in a scientific subfield relevant to chemical, biological, or related technical topics
  • Native or near-native Russian fluency
  • Business-level written English
  • Ability to write precise scientific prompts in Russian

  • Strong scientific judgment regarding safety and dual-use information
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed guidelines
