About AI Training and Legal AI Evaluation

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Professionals review examples, assess model outputs, write feedback, and compare responses so AI systems become more accurate, useful, and reliable.

In this project, your legal judgment will help evaluate how well AI-generated deliverables address realistic regulatory, privacy, healthcare, compliance, disclosure, and enforcement matters.

  • Remote contract work supporting legal AI training
  • Structured evaluation and human-preference feedback
  • An opportunity to apply specialized legal experience to emerging AI systems

The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Regulatory, Privacy and Healthcare Legal AI Reviewer for a blinded human-preference study. You will review realistic synthetic legal matters and AI-generated work products, compare outputs against a common comparator, and document which deliverables you prefer and why.

The engagement is remote and involves approximately 30 hours across the project. The structured listing specifies a 20+ hour-per-week time requirement, and the work is offered as a part-time contractor engagement.

  • Payment: $100 to $120 USD per hour
  • Engagement size: approximately 30 hours
  • Work arrangement: remote and worldwide
  • Language: English
  • Engagement type: contractor and part time

What You'll Do

You will assess each work product holistically, using professional legal judgment to determine whether it is correct, complete, well-reasoned, and useful. Your written rationales should be short, specific, and grounded in the materials and instructions provided.

All project materials must remain confidential under a non-disclosure agreement. External AI tools must not be used on project materials.

  • Read a synthetic legal matter and its underlying documents
  • Review six blinded AI deliverables for the matter
  • Complete five head-to-head comparisons against a common comparator output
  • Write a specific rationale for each preference
  • Evaluate correctness, completeness, judgment, and usefulness
  • Follow written instructions and meet the engagement deadline
  • Keep project materials confidential under an NDA

Required Qualifications

You must be a qualified lawyer with substantive practice experience in regulatory, privacy, and healthcare matters. The role requires precise written English, independent judgment, and the ability to explain why one legal AI output is preferable to another.

Although the structured listing identifies this opportunity as entry level, the project requires substantial specialized legal experience and the subject-matter knowledge described below.

  • Qualified lawyer with substantive regulatory, privacy, and healthcare practice experience
  • Experience with adviser compliance programs under Rule 206(4)-7
  • Knowledge of clinical and pharmaceutical data privacy under HIPAA and state law
  • Experience with ESG and sustainability disclosure
  • Familiarity with DOJ False Claims Act CID responses
  • Ability to analyze Anti-Kickback and Stark issues
  • Ability to assess legal work product for correctness, completeness, judgment, and usefulness
  • Precise written English and the ability to work independently
