Python Machine Learning Engineer

The Work

You will develop machine learning solutions from early data pipelines through production deployment and monitoring. The work includes turning business goals into reliable machine learning systems and working with product, engineering, and business teams to define problems and success measures.

You may work with supervised and unsupervised learning, time-series forecasting, natural language processing, computer vision, and statistical modeling.

• Build data pipelines and production machine learning systems.
• Design model architectures that reflect business rules and context.
• Evaluate and improve models for accuracy, performance, and scalability.
• Use appropriate models, evaluation measures, feature engineering, and tuning methods.
• Keep up with machine learning developments and apply useful methods to project needs.

What It Pays and Takes

This listing does not include a pay rate. It is a part-time contractor role marked as entry level, but the requirements call for at least four years of hands-on data science or machine learning development experience.

• Time commitment: 20 or more hours per week.
• Location: Applicants must be based in India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Türkiye, or Mexico.
• Language: English.
• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Core skills: Strong Python and proficiency with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, or comparable libraries.
• Required knowledge: Data preprocessing, feature engineering, model tuning, evaluation metrics, model selection, and scalable production systems.
• Helpful background: Deep learning, including convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, and transformers.
• Additional useful experience: Databricks, AWS, PySpark, computer vision tools, machine learning competitions, or technical benchmarks.
