OpenTrain is the #1 platform for starting and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect skilled contributors with projects that teach AI systems how to think, code, and behave, and help freelancers build a lasting portfolio of domain-specific work.
OpenTrain manages contracts, project workflows, and a unified profile of your AI training work.
Contributors do real, impactful work that helps shape state-of-the-art AI systems.
Why AI Training Work Matters
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human foundation of modern AI: models learn from examples and reviews created by people. Your domain knowledge directly improves model outputs, making this an opportunity to influence how future tools behave.
Most OpenTrain projects are remote and flexible, making them a good fit for part-time contractors who want to apply specialized skills—like game development—to meaningful AI training tasks.
Work 100% remotely and build evidence of your expertise in one place.
Flexible, part-time opportunities let you fit work around other commitments.
The Role
OpenTrain is hiring a remote contractor to review and evaluate Python and C++ game development samples—specifically targeting Panda3D workflows. You will produce evaluation ratings, technical critiques, and clear decision notes that serve as high-quality inputs for model training.
This is a part-time contractor role (20+ hours/week). Pay is hourly with a posted range of $20–$70 per hour; actual rate will reflect experience and task complexity. Work is worldwide and conducted in English.
Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
Time requirement: 20+ hours/week
Languages: English
Pay: Hourly, $20–$70/hr
What You'll Do
Your primary responsibility is to evaluate Panda3D and related game engine code for correctness, performance, and maintainability, and to communicate those findings in clear, structured notes suitable for AI training.
You will also provide concrete domain examples and recommendations drawn from real game development workflows to help models learn practical, context-aware behaviors.
Review and critique Python and C++ game development tasks.
Evaluate Panda3D code samples and game logic for rendering, asset management, and gameplay mechanics.
Identify bugs, performance issues, and architecture or asset-management problems.
Write clear decision notes and example-driven explanations for model training.
Participate in iterative feedback cycles to refine evaluation guidance.
Requirements
You must have hands-on experience building interactive 3D environments with Panda3D and strong Python skills in a game development context. Familiarity with C++ as used in game engines and practical GitHub experience for code review and collaboration are also required.
The role values careful technical communication and the ability to explain decisions so they are useful for AI training. You should be self-motivated and comfortable working independently as a remote contractor.
